Transitioning to Sixth Form
The sixth form is good. Students achieve well and make a positive contribution to the life of the school

At Saint George’s, want to help you grow into your best self, and we are delighted that you are considering studying with us in our Sixth Form. It is an exciting challenge moving from Year 11 to Year 12. In Year 11 your study is closely supervised; in the Sixth Form, you will have more freedom to show initiative, undertaking research and reading about your subjects. One of our aims in the Sixth Form is to help you cope with this change effectively. You will be given bridging materials before you start in our Sixth Form, so you can effectively make the transition to this higher level of study.
If you have been offered a place at Saint George's Sixth Form, met the entry requirements and accepted your place on Results Day, you will be advised of the date to start Sixth Form. You will need to arrive at 08:30 on that first day in business dress (see Sixth Form Dress Code) ready for our induction programme. Lessons will begin following the Induction Day in September. You should bring the completed summer transition work ready to hand in to your teachers.
We look forward to working with you over the next two years.
Summer Transition Work
In the summer before starting Sixth Form at Saint George's it is expected that you complete summer transition work in your chosen subjects, this is to ensure that a solid foundation is created before you start the course.
